Bridal Makeup And Hair Tips- Prepping Your Hair And Skin For Your Wedding

All brides want their bridal makeup and hair to look their best on their wedding day.

A few simple tips from Nubo Beauty can help you to achieve this goal!

Prepping Your Skin For Your Bridal Makeup

It’s so important that you feel the most beautiful you’ve ever felt on your wedding day.

Your skin is literally the canvas for a makeup artist.

Start off strong by taking extra good care of your skin in the months leading up to your wedding.

See A Professional

In order to have the healthiest skin possible, you can visit a dermatologist or esthetician to help you if you’d like.

Services like facials and dermaplaning are inexpensive and will make your skin look exceptionally smooth underneath your bridal makeup and bronzer.

Plus, a spa day never hurt anyone!

Hydrate!

Drink plenty of water and eat lots of healthy foods (especially during your wedding week).

When you feel good, you look good!

Stick To Your Regular Skincare Routine

Right before your wedding is not the time to try new products.

You can be very prone to breakouts and allergic reactions if you do.

Prep your skin by cleansing with your favorite products on the morning of your wedding, and don’t forget to moisturize!

Prepping Your Hair

See Your Hairdresser

Schedule an appointment for a trim and a color (if you have colored hair) a few weeks in advance.

Of course, don’t try anything too drastic!

This is just to freshen up your look and improve the health of your hair.

Skip The Shampoo

The dirtier your hair is, the easier it is to style and the better it will hold.

There’s no need to add an extra item to your wedding day to-do list anyway.

Las Vegas Wedding Makeup Artist | Why You Should Book A Trial

I recommend all of my clients book a trial when hiring me as their Las Vegas wedding makeup artist.

You may be wondering why it is so necessary to do this.

A hair and makeup trial can take a lot of weight off of your shoulders and also help you make important decisions for your wedding.

Here are 3 reasons why you should book a hair and makeup trial before your big day!

1. Meet Your Las Vegas Wedding Makeup Artist

Chances are, you haven’t been able to meet your hair and makeup artist before now.

This will give you the chance to meet them and to also get several items checked off your wedding planning list.

You can sign your contracts, put down deposits, and discuss the details of your wedding during this time!

2. You’ll See Yourself As A Bride For The First Time

You can try on your dress and jewelry after your trial to finally see the full look come together.

Most brides don’t know exactly what they’re going looking on their wedding day until their trial. You probably don’t know either unless you had false lashes and an updo when you bought your dress.

You will never regret taking the opportunity to see how everything will look together!

3. It’s The Perfect Time To Take Your Bridals

You probably know by now that it’s smart to get as much checked off your wedding to do list as you can in one day.

Hair and makeup artist, as well as wedding photographers, are usually booked on the weekends. Weddings and other events take up a lot of their schedule.

If you can coordinate dates between these two vendors, it will work out perfectly for you to take your bridals during the week.

Destination Wedding Makeup | Kate and Casey

When you get asked to fly for a destination wedding to do the brides wedding makeup and hair, you cant help but feel so excited and thrilled! Kate married Casey on 5.18.17 in beautiful St Augustine, Florida at The White Room a gorgeous venue overlooking the Lions Bay Bridge. Casey having some Hawaiian roots, Kate and Casey chose to have Hawaiian styled elements throughout the ceremony and reception with a simple laid back feel. Therefore, when it came to Kate’s makeup, we went for the same approach.

When I get asked for destination wedding makeup and hair, sometimes it can be a little tricky depending on what the climate is, as Vegas has complete opposite weather from Florida’s natural humidity. This is where my skill in chemistry comes in handy. Most people don’t think about the chemistry behind wedding makeup, but there is TONS of chemistry behind application and product to achieve long wear durability.

When determining what type of wedding makeup to apply, we first evaluate the clients skin type and texture, then build from there. I used a very light weight airbrush spray foundation on Kate with an underlying matte primer to help with the humidity a bit. Kate requested a very understated simple, but clean look and I think we nailed it. We contoured her cheeks slightly with Lorac Pro shimmer in Moonlight and Mac Cosmetics sculpting powder in Shadester with a kiss of Nars Orgasm blush. Kate wore our kiss proof lipsense color in Bombshell.

While bride was happy and groom even happier staring into his princesses eyes, we were successful! Kate’s wedding makeup was stunning and Alex did such an amazing job capturing their love for each other!
